I’m going to put aside swooning over Paul Dano for a moment and say something about the film. It’s slow and morose - not in a negative way. I enjoyed the scenes where Joby Taylor (Paul Dano) spends time with his daughter who he has never seen before especially when he had to explain his absence to her. There were many, many scenes where he was silent and contemplative and I was dying to know what he was thinking just like how he wanted to know everything about his daughter (who was also silent and parsimonious with her words) in a span of two hours.
